En medio de gran expectativa se realizan en la Universidad Católica de Santa María, los Juegos del Cachimbo 2017 organizados por la Sección de Actividades de Recreación y Deportes de la Oficina de Bienestar Universitario, fiesta deportiva que reúne a cerca de mil deportistas representantes de las veintinueve escuelas profesionales.
Los primeros resultados indican:
Futsal Damas: Ingeniería Ambiental 3 Medicina Humana 1; Farmacia 2 Ingeniería Civil 1; Ingeniería Mecánica ganó por WO a Enfermería
Vóley Damas: Medicina humana perdió ante Odontología por 2 set a 0; Ingeniería Biotecnológica perdió ante Farmacia por 2 set a 0, Obstetricia ganó 2 set a 0 a Enfermería
Básquet Damas Medicina Humana venció a Odontología por 18 a 10 puntos, Arquitectura con 21 puntos ganó a Ing. Ambiental a 8.
